The Connectworks team has been busy on several fronts. Alongside our Back to Basics roadmap (more on that below), we've reviewed and updated some of our underlying infrastructure, and completed an independent third-party penetration test to make sure we're following up-to-date best practice.
While this doesn't provide exciting new features, online security is incredibly important and we work hard to keep your data secure. One key enhancement off the back of this review that you may have missed was that you can now enforce MFA for users within your firm — action this via firm settings if you are an administrator.

What’s coming — Back to Basics roadmap
As highlighted in our last newsletter, we're focused on making the most common tasks your team performs faster, clearer and easier to do. We've made good progress on director synchronisation, making appointing, retiring and updating directors much more intuitive. The idea is simple: you make the change in Connectworks, upload the signed consent form to the Companies Office, and once the appointment is confirmed, the update will sync back automatically into Connectworks.
Once this is live, we'll turn our focus to a redesign of the workspace to surface more information directly and clearly show which data is from Connectworks and which is from the Companies Office, and how to update. After that, we'll tackle address updates, aiming to let you make multiple updates at the Companies Office in one action.
Companies (Address Information) Amendment Act 2025
The Companies (Address Information) Amendment Act 2025 is coming into effect shortly (or automatically by 18 November 2026 at the latest). It will allow directors who meet the "harm threshold" — broadly, where there's a risk to their personal safety — to have their residential address redacted from the public Companies Register in favour of an alternative address. We're keeping an eye on their updates, the technical details will be released soon. We're monitoring this closely to make sure there's no impact on the current API connection between Connectworks and the Companies Office.
